CHRISTMAS PARTY COMING SOON!!

The Gahanna American Legion Post 797 has planned it's annual Christmas Party for Wednesday, December 17th at the NUTCRACKER Restaurant.  It is located East on Broad Street just past State Route 310 on the South side of the road.  It's the same place that gave free meals to veterans on Veterans Day.  We have the party room which will hold up to 40 people and will have a choice of 2 entrees.  Also, we are asking each attendee to bring something that can be used as a White Elephant Gift Exchange.  Something inexpensive and wrapped as a gift.  THOSE PLANN

COLUMBUS - A PATRIOTIC COMMUNITY

November 11th, Veterans Day around the world, and which city honors its Veterans as well?  The Central Ohio restaurants of McCormicks & Schmicks, Applebees, and the Nutcracker Restaurant in Pataskala were inundated with Veterans and their spouses as they offered FREE meals to all Veterans.  The Nutcracker offered the free meals all day, and handled hundreds upon hundreds of patrons during this honorable day.

Proper Flag Disposal

What do you do when your American Flag is getting worn and starts to shred?  Do you know the proper way to dispose of it without desecrating it?  Did you know that the American Legion of Gahanna will do this for you?  All you have to do is fold the glag, put it in a plastic bag, and deliver it to a Legion member, or take it to one of our meetings, which you can always find on the events calendar.  They will see to it that the Flag is disposed of properly.  If you cannot get to the meeting, contact one of our post officers on the Officers page, and someone wil

Pastor Deb Michaels' church and several other churches in Ohio are planning a Pig Roast on October 14th, where they will serve meals to wounded veterans at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.

A new year has begun and the challenges are very similar to previous years, as many changes have been made and many more are to come. The Post has grown tremendously over the past 5 years, thanks to the continued support of the membership committee and the former First Vice Commander, Bob Donahue, who was instrumental in gaining the support necessary to accomplish the post's goals.

FELLOW LEGIONNAIRES: Please renew your membership for 2009 as soon as you possibly can. The dues are not required until November, but if we can meet quota for membership before Veterans Day each year, we get back a small amount of money that helps pay the postage for the newsletter  That allows the post more to work with.
