The Gahanna American Legion Post will continue to support the Military Blood Drives to gather blood for our soldiers serving on active duty. While the American Red Cross takes our blood freely, it does not solicit blood for the military, and above all, does not provide blood to the military unless they pay for it. Pete Margaritis (740)927-6328 has made this his life's mission, and has been doing an excellent job of getting the needed donations for our military. NEXT BLOOD DRAW IS FEBRUARY (7TH or 8th) at the Army Reserve Center on Yearling Road. The exact date will be announced as soon as available.
The AUXILIARY UNIT of Gahanna American Legion Post #797 is asking for monetary donations so they can take winter clothing items to our disabled veterans at Chillicothe Veterans Hospital this coming December. This is a yearly event, and normally the Auxiliary raises enough money to provide new underwear & socks for the veteran, but it's for Christmas, and they would like to be able to provide more than just a few clothing items. It would be great if they could raise enough from your donations to provide something more in the way of food, entertainment, or some DVDs of current movies that the Vets could watch when not in rehabilitation. These veterans need to know that someone is thinking of them and that they honor what they have sacrificed for their country and you. Our small Auxiliary Unit cannot put together the amount they need to accomplish this for our soldiers. PLEASE GO TO OUR DONATE BUTTON & GIVE WHAT YOU CAN!! Thank you so much!
The Gahanna Post is looking for the donation of a reliable 9 or 12 passenger van that can be utilized by the Post Honor Guard to transport members to the many events where they appear and provide color guard and military honors. If you have such a van, please contact any one of the Post Officers and the person responsible for use of such vehicle will contact you. The van would be used to transport the Honor Guard to Memorials, Parades, Military Funerals, Dedications, and Legion functions out of the immediate area. If you are a business, we would not rule out sensible,visible advertising on the vehicle.

Ourgnizations who wish to donate will receive a receipt from Paypal recognizing their contribution in their email account. Make sure when you fill out the form to donate that you complete the information for the submission so your receipt will so reflect your contribution.
