ATTENTION:

As of 4 November, 2008, all officers of the SAL Squadron 797 resigned from their posts over a conflict at 12th District.  Until new officers are selected, all contacts with the SAL Squadron must go thru the Commander of American Legion Post 797 or the Post Adjutant, who can be contacted thru this web site from the officers page.  It's an unfortunate situation, but the Squadron will carry on as before.  Please check this page often for any/all updated information regarding the SAL.

FROM POST 797 ADJUTANT:

Squadron 797 members should have received their 2009 cards. Department states that all members  have  paid their 2009 dues.  Dues are $20 for adults and $10 for Juniors and Dual members. In addition, we are asking each member to consider making a donation which we will forward on to the various SAL charities.

Last year Squadron 797 donated $140 to Child Welfare, $200 to the Gift for Yanks, $30 to Children’s Miracle Network, $30 to the National Emergency Relief Fund, $300 to Special Olympics and $300 to send a boy (our own Jared Liston) to Buckeye Boys State. Any amount you can spare, no matter how big or small, will be appreciated and forwarded on to these charities. If you have a specific charity in mind let us know. If not we will divide the individual donations and combine these with our fundraisers in order to make our donations for 2009.

Post 797 will strive to continue carrying out the projects initiated by Squadron 797 unless the membership desires any changes in that arrangement.  One feature that you have not had in the past is paying your dues via Paypal.  On the support page you can go to the bottom and click on the DONATE button and pay your dues that way.  It will cost you an extra $1.30 to do so though, as Paypal does charge for that.  You do not need a Paypal account to pay that way either.  You can also make donations that way.  Just complete the form to say exactly what the money is for.  The same for your dues payments., so they are credited correctly.  PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED OF ADDRESS OR PHONE # CHANGES SO THEY CAN BE CORRECTED AT DEPARTMENT.

If you have any questions about The Sons of The American Legion, Squadron 797, or how you can become a member, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email.  For an spplication, please click on the pdf file at the bottom of this page, print it out, complete it, and mail it , along with the appropriate dues fee to Squadron 797, P.O. Box 30843, Gahanna, OH 43230.

Sincerely,

Harvey Jones,  Post Adjutant                                                                                               614-837-3931                                                                                              site@al797.org
