JOB FAIR FOR VETERANS - JULY 3D - COLUMBUS ZOO

The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center is sponsoring it's 3d Annual  JOB FAIR at the Columbus Zoo.  It will on July 3d from 9:00am to 3:00 pm and admission to the zoo is free to all veterans that day.  This event is open to veterans and their immediate family for job information.  Take your resumes and have copies also.  Check out the poster above for more information.

NEW WEB BROWSER FOR AMERICAN LEGION POST

Within a week to 10 days there will be a way for Post 797 to start building our Founders Fund much faster than ever before.  It will take the cooperation of EVERY American Legion member who uses a computer, but it will NOT cost you a penny to help do this.  In the upcoming newsletter the 1st of July, there will be an article describing exactly how this all will work, and you will find that there is a way for us to get that building we have been wanting.  This will require you to get all your email friends involved also, assuring them that it is not going to cost them anything

THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED

The organizers and directors of the Creekside Jazz and Blues Festival have asked me to convey their thanks and appreciation for all the help they received during the Festival.  Everyone who said they would be there, were there, and they worked the entire time and more when many volunteers from other  organizations decided they did not have to continue their committment  and abandoned their posts.  The Legionnaires promptly took their places at the entry points and carried on.

BREAKFAST CLUB RESUMES SUNDAY 19 April at VFW

Sunday mornings, starting at 9:00am, members of American Legion Post 797 meet at the Gahanna VFW Post for breakfast and coffee.  The VFW offers a variable menu where you can place your order at the window and your breakfast will be served to you in the adjoining room.  Members of the PEC have been having breakfast there for several months now and the food is very good.  For $5 you can have a fulfilling meal and all the coffee you can drink.  In addition, you get to meet other members of the Post you may or may not know, and get better acquainted.  "Breakfast is

The Gahanna Post of the American Legion was founded in 2002, with Gahanna veterans of various military backgrounds coming together to form a unit that started  with 26 veterans.  Since then, we have grown to a present 338 members, having been joined by veterans from other communities, who, having a dedication to serving their country and community, have put their efforts towards serving the community of Gahanna by providing High School students the opprtunity to play American Legion Baseball, to participate in the Oratorical Contests conducted annually, to attend the Buckeye

"SPIRIT OF AMERICA" COMES TO COLUMBUS

Call now to get your FREE tickets to see the "Spirit of America", a free patriotic show, which will be presented by the Army on September 18-19 in Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. 

The event features re-enactments of American History.  Groups include the Army Band, the Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, the Army Drill team, and soldiers from the 3d Infantry Regiment, the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army.

CRACKER BARREL DONATES DOOR PRIZE FOR June 2009

The Cracker Barrel Restruarnt has graciously provided the Post a Certificate for the June door prize.  It is good for 2 meals at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at SR 256 and I-70 East.  The Restaurant is always busy and has shown their patriotism throughlut every holiday that we celebrate, and Flag Day is no exception.  The winner of the door prize was Jack Steinhausser for the Cracker Barrel meals.
